Good Shepherd Church has a long history of social action. After the Vietnam war, this church alone resettled over 300 Southeast Asians and also made intentional outreach to include persons with disabilities starting during this time. Good Shepherd was the second congregation in the synod after Luther College Campus Ministry to become a Reconciling in Christ congregation (2007) and an AMMPARO congregation (2017). Good Shepherd has historically been a leader in environmental sustainability and became the synod’s first carbon neutral building in 2023.
