The first Sunday of Advent, and the first Sunday of the new church year, was celebrated at Good Shepherd with the lighting of the first candle on the Advent Wreath by the Gertz family.
New Advent paraments and vestments woven by congregation member Barbara Berg were blessed.
The exterior of the church was decorated with planters filled with seasonal greens, birch bows, and branches. Wreaths wrapped with blue ribbon were hung on the doors.
