Lutheran Disaster Response Flood Relief

Our prayers and financial support are needed to help both with flooding in the Gulf Coast area of the US, and in South Asia where more than 1,200 people are feared to have died and 40 million are estimated to have been affected by flooding in India, Nepal and Bangladesh.

You can give tax deductible contributions directly to these organizations. You can also write a check to Good Shepherd designated for flood relief and we will send half to Lutheran DIsaster Response for gulf coast flooding and half to Lutheran World Relief for South Asia flooding.

You can respond to Gulf Coast flooding through donations to

Postcards: Immigration Issues, September 3

POSTCARDS: IMMIGRATION ISSUES – SEPTEMBER 3

The Social Justice Committee asks for your help in contacting our U.S. Senators and Representatives concerning three bills before the Congress. The DACA 2017 act would protect the young people who came to the U.S. with their parents as children and now need time to finish their education and begin a career. The RAISE act would drastically change our national policy on immigration. Rather than family unification, it would be based on the immigrants’ jobs, education, income and age. Finally the Sanctuary act would remove local control of police concerning immigration enforcement. Postcards, pens and a sheet of information will be available during the Social Hour.
