Please keep the family of Good Shepherd member Beverly Tangen in your prayers. Beverly died Friday, April 9. 

Memorial Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 16, 2021 at Decorah Lutheran Church with Pastor Amy Larson officiating. Inurnment will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Decorah.       

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Friday, one hour before the service, at Decorah Lutheran Church.

In consideration of Covid-19 concerns, masks and physical distancing are required.

Former member Sharon Rendack of Davenport, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota following a short illness. Her obituary may be found HERE. A graveside service at the Lutheran Cemetery in Decorah, IA, will be held later this spring with Pastor Amy Larson officiating.

“NEIGHBORS HELPING NEIGHBORS” Donations Needed for Head Start

  • Families of seven immigrant children, ages 3 and 4, are unable to provide transportation for them to attend Head Start.

  • The Immigration Working Group of the Peace and Justice Center invites you to help with the children’s transportation costs via EARL through a donation to the Neighbors Helping Neighbors Fund, managed by the Decorah United Church of Christ.

  • The EARL transportation cost per child is $20 a week or $80 a month, a total of $560 a month for all 7 children.

  • Donations can be made online at decorahucc.org/neighbors or by check, payable to Decorah UCC, with Neighbors Helping Neighbors Fund in the memo line. Mail checks to Decorah UCC, PO Box 470, Decorah, IA 52101.

Dear Good Shepherd Members and Friends,
All are welcome to join in a prayer service tonight at 6:30 pm for the United States ahead of Inauguration Day. The service will be led by Pr. Amy, Brooke Joyce, Amalia Vagts, Angie Sadler and Marv Slind.
 
You will be admitted from a waiting room. Please try to make sure that your name is displayed on your Zoom account so that we can identify who you are before we admit you into the worship service. Log into your Zoom account, go under the Profile tab and edit the profile so that your name appears. If you have trouble with this, please contact Pr. Amy. This will also be important for the Zoom Annual Meeting.
